Employment Services
Employment Services provide job seekers with an individually tailored package of assistance to improve their job prospects, find suitable work and successfully maintain employment.
FWS recognises that some job seekers will benefit from rapid connection to job opportunities while others may require a longer period of assistance to prepare for work and achieve their employment goals.
Many job seekers are confronted with a range of issues or barriers when considering employment. These can include:
- An illness, injury or disability
- Lack of job searching skills
- No formal qualifications or industry training
- Language barriers or low literacy skills
- Family commitments
- Accommodation or financial issues
- Restricted transport or rural isolation
FWS job seekers benefit from the extensive community networks developed by our staff. Strong linkages with a range of local community services enable FWS to connect job seekers with the specialist assistance they may require, including:
- Accredited training providers (eg TAFE)
- Disability service providers
- Mental Health services
- Vocational Rehabilitation specialists
- Accommodation support services
- Counselling and Legal Aid services
- Job seeker support in the workplace
- Workplace modifications for a job seeker with a disability
- Financial assistance for job seeker training, wages or equipment
FWS is a recognised as a specialist in disability employment service provision and is quality accredited against the National Disability Services Standards. With its roots in rural South Australia, FWS also specialises in meeting the needs of disadvantaged job seekers in rural communities.
