The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing individualised support for people with disability, their families and carers. The NDIS provides eligible people a flexible, whole-of-life approach to the support they need to pursue their goals. It also fosters social inclusion and economic participation.
The NDIS is a big change and it will be progressively rolled out in South Australia. People will move to the NDIS at different times depending on age and where they live. The NDIS will be operating state-wide for all age groups by July 2018.
FWS is registered to provide service under the NDIS for:
Support is to provide funding to enable you to participate in community activities, particularly when there is at risk of being socially isolated. Our service will develop abilities to participate in community activities via 1:1 and group based.
Daily Living & Life Skills
Activities to increase the ability to live autonomously as possible. These supports are provided individually and can be provided in a range of environments, including but not limited to, your own home.
Plan management is the financial management of the NDIS plan and includes making payments to providers, expense claims processing, developing monthly statements for you and claiming payment from the NDIA. Plan Managers also liaise with providers and yourself to implement and manage the plan.
Assistance to address barriers and reducing the complexity around connecting to support services.
This includes resolving points of crisis, developing capacity and resilience in your network and coordinating supports from a range of sources
Finding & Keeping a Job
In a group setting, build capacity by providing skills training such as transport, time/financial management, and self-care to support you to get a job.
Time limited on-the-job training & post placement support related to your disability that enables you to adjust & manage demands of the job & workplace environment, & to assist employers to successfully manage your placement.
Specialist Supported Employment
On going on the job support to enable a you to maintain and retain supported employment. Service is tailored to individual disabilities and supported employees are provided with supervision.
